This week my mentor had me doing something different. I was to sign up for a class on coursera, (which is a online class website. There are hundreds of courses taught by professors from universities all around. If you would like to know more about coursera here is the link: https://www.coursera.org/ The course I'm taking is called Changing Weather and Climate in the Great Lakes Region. It's a four week class that spends one week on each of the seasons and teaches you how the climate is being affected by our actions. Each week talks about weather unique to each of the seasons and how it is being affected by our changing climate. This class is put on by the University of Madison-Wisconsin. I was also assigned to watch online seminars about invasive species. They are two hours long and discuss topics on how to keep our forest safe from animals not common to them. I find both of these very interesting and something I probably would have never found if it wasn't for my mentorship.
